Abstract Sculpture, Press Mould

As a class we got told to create a sculpture as a singular person working from shapes and patterns from our abstract project. I found this to be challenging as I have always had low standard work in ceramics and found it difficult. There were two options, build a slab build or create a press mould. I chose work on a press mould as I did this once before in pairs and found it an interessting technique.
I first designed a design sheet with a number of shapes from my abstract faces in my book. These shapes were shapes such as teardrops and eyebrows.
Once my piece was finished and the shapes were attatched, I waited for it to come out of the kiln to glaze it.
I chose to glaze this using just one glaze and one colour which was semi transparent, denim blue.
This was later on exhibited in the college small exhibition later on that week.
