When my turn arrived the technique of the wheel came as a surprise to me as it was a lot harder than what I had imagined. I expected the process to be layed back but instead it was a process of strength and handi-coordination. I needed to be in full control of the clay and to move my thumbs and fingers around in order to get a nice pot shape. This was unsuccessful for me as I made what my tutor likes to call "doughnut's". That is when you lose control over the clay and it peels apart leaving you with a doughnut shaped piece of clay. Despise this, It was the most fun I have ever felt in a ceramic lesson.
