My Journey
Spirited Away
In the following critique I will compare and
contrast separate adventures. Both completely opposite but similar in
interesting ways. A quick and simple option for me to do this task was to watch
a movie. The movie I chose is an anime called Spirited Away. My 30-minute
journey began as I stepped out of my front door. I walk in amusement whilst
walking through my front garden. I see a number of garden stones with wacky
appearances. I noticed this also in the movie. It involved garden stones as
tall as a human. An interesting one to find was a large stone that was back to
front, with a wacky face on each side. As I live in a quiet village, my walk
was relaxing and peaceful. I was in my own company, with a camera on my side.
My walk mainly consisted of nature. There is a difference here as the main
character in Spirited Away has numerous leaders joining her. She comes across
abandoned buildings and surrealist characters such as pigs in human form, spirits and bouncing heads. Spirited Away is most
certainly an adventure to remember. An unexpected adventure leading somewhere.
This young girl was lost and frightened. I however, purposely chose to explore
the outdoors and knew my way around and where I was heading. I enjoyed my time,
but I feel I hadn’t explored and learned as much as what young Chihiro
(main character in movie) did. This is expected as my journey was realistic.
