"In loving memory of our original idea"

 A new and exciting little project for us was set out here. Ikea asked a number of colleges to build and design a table which would then later on be displayed in their building. The task was quite simple. I was directed to be paired up with someone in my class and we would both then come up with designs and ideas to create our own unique shaped table. A lot of thought got put into this as me and my partner wanted to create something beyond the extreme so our first idea was to build a fish tank in the centre of the table. Similar to this;

Unfortunately my partner did not contribute as much as she had time off college for personal issues. I was then left to build this table individualy and work around ideas we had planned to make it come together. This did not turn out so well. Reason's being is because of money issues for a tank and not having enough lessons together in time to build one. We were each dissapointed by this and felt we had failed with no other idea's to match. 

Finally, the idea came to us. An idea which could still involve the original. We simply chose to turn this table into a chair, a memorial chair. We felt no way was this as exciting as our original. Whilst thinking about names to stamp into the brass as a memorial we came up the title "In loving memory of our original idea".
Although this is quick and simple I am overall in love with the outcome and the comical side to it.

It was later on chosen to be one of the few to be displayed in Ikea.
